Private, elegant boudoir photography in Oxfordshire

A completely guided experience for women of every age, shape and confidence level—with a professional female hair and makeup artist present throughout your shoot.

You do not need to know how to pose. You do not need to change your body first. And you will never be asked to reveal more than feels right for you.

This is YOUR experience

Boudoir photography by The Boudoir Edit – where our boudoir photoshoots are all about YOU

Perhaps you are celebrating a birthday, a wedding or an important new chapter. Perhaps you want to rebuild your confidence, see yourself differently or create something that is entirely for you.

Whatever has brought you here, you do not have to arrive feeling fearless. Most of the women David photographs feel nervous at first—and none of them are expected to know what to do in front of the camera.

From planning what to wear to directing every pose, we guide you carefully through the whole experience. The result is a collection of natural, flattering and beautifully finished portraits that reflect your personality—not somebody else’s idea of how you should look.

ABOUT US

Your COMFORT is part of the process, not an afterthought

Boudoir photography requires trust. We believe you should know who will be present, what will happen and how your photographs will be protected before you decide whether a session is right for you.

David photographs every session and is supported throughout by a professional female hair and makeup artist. She remains with you for the entire shoot, helping with styling, makeup touch-ups and the small practical details that help you feel at ease.

You decide what you wear, how much you reveal and the overall mood of your photographs. Lingerie and nudity are never requirements. You can pause, change direction or say no to an idea at any time.

Your photographs will never appear on our website, social media or anywhere else without your separate written permission.

There are just three people present during the photography: you, David and your female hair and makeup artist.

What happens during a boudoir experience?

1. A relaxed conversation

Start with a private, no-pressure conversation. Tell us what has inspired you, what you are nervous about and the kind of photographs you love. Asking a question does not commit you to booking.

2. Personal planning

You will receive preparation and wardrobe guidance, and we can create a private inspiration board together. You can choose anything from softly styled portraits to confident lingerie images or tasteful implied nude photographs.

3. Hair, makeup and time to settle in

Your professional hair and makeup artist will help create a look that still feels like you. There is time to talk, settle into the location and choose your outfits before photography begins.

4. Fully guided photography

David directs every pose and expression clearly, one step at a time. There is no need to practise or perform. Your female hair and makeup professional remains present throughout.

5. A private viewing

After your images have been carefully edited, you will view them privately a few days later and decide what—if anything—you would like to purchase. Prices are explained before you book, and there is no obligation to buy additional photographs.

Elegant photographs, shaped around you

Boudoir does not have to mean one particular outfit, pose or personality. Your photographs might feel soft and romantic, elegant and editorial, joyful and playful, or bold and dramatic.

Explore real sessions to find the style that feels most like you.

CONFIDENCE BOOSTING

Although I was nervous about doing the shoot, David and the make-up artist make me feel completely as ease. Joyce did such a great job with the hair and make-up and I was blown away with how the pictures turned out. David’s photographs are beautiful, tasteful and elegant. My husband to be loved the album and was completely surprised. A once in a lifetime experience.
